Shear Outlaw
The Shear Outlaw Collection
Inspired by the warmth of the sun, the softness of a desert sunset, and the sacred geometry woven throughout nature.
Where It Began
As the first piece in The Shear Outlaw Collection, this mandala began with the salon's brand and signature color palette. From the very first brushstrokes, it carried a playful energy that slowly unfolded into something both bold and serene.
While painting the center, my own sunflowers had just begun to bloom. For the first time, I found myself studying the intricate sacred geometry hidden within each flower. That quiet moment became the heart of this piece, inspiring the layered patterns and radiant symmetry that spread outward from the center.
As each layer evolved, the color story evolved with it. Warm golden yellows gave way to blush pinks and rich purples, echoing the glow of a colorful desert sunset. Mapping that gradual transition became one of the most rewarding challenges of the entire painting, allowing movement and balance to emerge naturally across the mandala.
Although Shear Outlaw began as a celebration of vibrant color, it ultimately became a reflection of contrast. Strength and softness. Confidence and calm. Fire and stillness.
